A Grinch is planning to steal Christmas, said a five-year-old Mississippi boy in a 911 call last weekend, reports the Clarion-Ledger.
Byram Police Officer Lauren Develle, who was compared to Cindy Lou Who when she was a child, came to TyLon Pittman’s house to assure him that his holiday was safe.
TyLon’s brother, TeDera Dwayne Graves, an Air Force man home for the holidays, put videos on Facebook of the interaction between TyLon and Develle.
“So what are you going to do if he tries to steal your Christmas?” Develle asked TyLon.
“I want y’all to come back to my house and take him to jail,” TyLon replied.
Develle arrested the Grinch on Monday. The kindergartener, wearing a Byram Police Department baseball cap, was invited to help escort the Grinch to a holding cell.
Police Chief Luke Thompson urged TyLon to apply for a police officer’s job when he turns 21.
