How Much Should School Board Trustees Be Paid?

They’re paid a lot in Los Angeles, prompting letters to the editor:

Your article (Internal Affairs, Page 1B, July 16) asks if school trustees are worth $125,000 salaries. I argue you’re asking the wrong question. The question should be “Will $125,000 salaries attract enough attention to start to fix the education system?”
