You’re not a ‘visual’ (or ‘auditory’) learner

Nearly all teachers believe that students learn best when taught to their preferred learning style, but there’s no evidence that’s true.

The VARK questionnaire tells people whether they’re primarily visual, aural, reading/writing or kinesthetic learners.

Others theorize that there are seven learning styles, including logical, social and solitary.

Perhaps there are eight styles: visual (spatial); aural; physical (tactile); verbal (linguistic); logical (analytical); social; solo; natural (nature).

Learning styles is a myth that wastes time and money, writes researcher Shaylene Nancekivell. Instead of using the most effective methods for all learners, teachers try to appeal to different students supposed styles.
