Teachers get (very small) baseball bats

“It is the last resort,” said Millcreek School District Superintendent William Hall, who called the 16-inch bats primarily  “symbolic.”

In an online survey, 70 percent of community members favored arming teachers and other staff members with guns, if it becomes legal in Pennsylvania. The district has no plans to do so.

Another Pennsylvania district got so much attention for its plan to arm students with stones for self-defense that it decided to hire security guards armed with guns.
