Many thanks

Many thanks to Joanne for inviting me to guest-blog here at this lovely site once again.  I probably should have been more active than I was, but I had some crises come up, including a trip to the hospital with my wife and an analysis of Aquinas’ De Ente et Essentia that refused to write itself.

My thanks also to what has to be the most wonderful group of commenters in the blogosphere.  Back to the peanut gallery with me.

I'm baaaaaaack…..

Joanne, being somewhat possessed of the desire to travel and accordingly to be relieved of her bloggerly duties, has graciously allowed me the opportunity to return to these, the hallowed halls of edublogging, where I might provide some small portion of the regular servings of diversion and thoughtfulness that you all so richly deserve.

Thursday is my busiest day of the week, so I don’t know that I’ll be able to get much up today, but we’ll be chatting more in the coming week.

Greetings from Southern California!

I want to thank Joanne for the opportunity to guest-blog here at the site.  Some of you may know me from the comments section here, and some of you may remember me from back in the Stone Age when I had my own blog, Highered Intelligence.  (Now defunct.)

I’ll be blogging on educational issues mostly — although my first post has more to do with culture than education.  Just by way of a little background, I’m an attorney who is currently working his way through the Philosophy PhD program at UCLA.  My main areas of interest, as far as blogging is concerned, are the law as it relates to parenting and authority over children, curriculum design, school safety policy, educational labor policy, and homeschooling.  I make no promises to limit myself to these topics, however.

A visit to Oz

I’ll be in Australia for the next two weeks. While I may do occasional blogging, I’ve recruited two guest bloggers: Kate Coe and Michael E. Lopez. I’ll let them introduce themselves. I hope Jenny DeMonte (Dr. Cookie) will be able to add a few posts too.
