Speech-zone suit costs college $50,000

California’s Modesto Junior College has agreed to drop its “free speech zone” and pay $50,000 to settle a First Amendment lawsuit. Robert Van Tuinen, an Army veteran turned photography student, was prevented from passing out copies of the Constitution on campus.

    Hard to tell if the campus drones were enforcing a dumb “free speech zone” with no other purpose, or if they thought the Constitution was a subversive document and used the zone thing as an excuse.
    I hear various items from the top-tiers such as that social justice should trump free speech, or that due process victimizes women who are supposedly victims of the evil menz.
    But I figured CC were more connected to the rest of the world.
