Remedial remake

High failure rates in remedial math have prompted Illinois community college teachers to develop “math literacy” courses for students in non-STEM majors.

  1. This is just another example of idiocy. Most state college students in florida will NOT be required to take remedial courses, regardless of their college readiness?

We’ve managed to dumb down our public schools and by de facto, our colleges and universities in this country over the last quarter century or more.

As LONG as we continue to admit students to college who absolutely are NOT ready for college level material, we’re going to become a 3rd world nation in education within a generation.

We’re almost there now with the latest PISA results showing the U.S. 36th out of 65th in education rankings.
