There was a great expose a few months ago in Mother Jones about the wretched working conditions in the warehouse of an Amazon-like on-line retailer (its name was disguised, but it was probably Amazon). The article was tittled, “The Secret Hell of Online Shopping” and it really did sound like hell. If the reporting was accurate, it’s hard to imagine that these beat-up serfs could have the stamina to do coursework after work. The thought of them doing so gives me pain. They need rest!
