‘All-Scholastics’ without scholars

Three times a year, the Boston Globe publishes a 14-page “All-Scholastics” section with photos and write-ups of good high school athletes from a variety of sports. Students who excel in academics are honored never, writes Will Fitzhugh of the Concord Review.

    Valedictorians get honored.
    People in the NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY get honored.

    But kids who are on sports teams are out fighting (metaphorically) for the community. Kids who do well in school are out fighting for themselves.

    You expect the community to get excited about that?
