‘Antigone’ faces tyranny again

New York City dual-enrollment students adapted ‘Antigone’ to criticize high school closures and were closed down by school authorities.

  1. Woo! Students learn something and create something, and they are squished for it.

  2. I read the text of the play, it was nicely done. Those kids learned something, that’s for sure: that nothing has changed in 2,500 years, people in power fall out of touch with their people make stupid decisions and stubbornly stick to their stupidity, even after they and everyone else know how stupid it all was.
