It’s almost as if Dubner’s stumbled onto the shocking insight that if education is important students will be motivated. Even worse is the notion that financial incentives have a bearing on learning.
Next thing you know someone’ll jump to the conclusion that if the teachers get a little somethin’ somethin’ when the kids learn the teachers will also be motived and then where will we be?
Quick, someone find some “research” from an ed school that proves all that’s necessary for learning to take place is an institutional hug and an incoherent methodology.
