CCs in California need to raise fees

On Community College Spotlight:  California’s very low-cost community colleges should raise tuition to lower costs for students, editorializes the Los Angeles Times. (It works by shifting costs to the feds.)

The Gates Foundation is funding college completion initiatives in New York City, San Francisco, Mesa, Arizona and Riverside, California.

  1. CCs in California need to stop shoveling in foreign (full paying) students, and start considering their actual mission. Some CCs are superior to the CalStates and some are little better than high schools with ash trays.
