Excellent article, and absolutely true. My day job is at a nuclear plant, and you absolutely can pull down that much money with good grades and a high school diploma. A two year degree will most assuredly mark one as a prospective reactor operator license candidate. A four year degree will mark one as an “instant” senior reactor operator license candidate, i.e., go to the head of the line for selectees, which can easily bring a six figure income when overtime, shift differential, license pay and requalification bonuses are thrown in.
