Homeschooling Granny, the Dartmouth researcher looked at data from the '60s and '70s. Tools of the Mind didn't exist back then, as it began in the '90s.

The What Works Clearinghouse has this to say about Tools of the Mind:

Effectiveness
Tools of the Mind was found to have no discernible effects on oral language, print knowledge, cognition, and math.

Does the program used in early education make a difference? Is Nurture Shock correct in its assessment of the effectiveness of Tools of the Mind? Where does Tools fit in these early education programs?
