> Andy– do you have any cites for the results of the Annenberg challenge?

You'd argue with any of them, so google for yourself.

We have the deafening silence from the Obama campaign wrt his executive accomplishments. If Annenberg had been a success, do you really think that Obama wouldn't be talking it up? Instead he goes with "I've run a successful political campaign."

It's easy to see why some of his true believers act like he's a messiah. After all, Obama is at least tacitly implying that he's going to perform miracles:

He's going to provide a tax break for 95 percent of working families, even though roughly 40 percent of them don't pay any income taxes.

He's going to jump-start a struggling economy by raising taxes.

The $1 trillion in new taxes that he plans to raise will be fed into all manner of new and wonderful entitlement programs...and in the process, he will give us the choice of a mandatory government health plan.

He will renegotiate or abandon NAFTA, even as he supports free trade...or at least, bigger unions.

Gee, some of us unbelievers just can't wait...

pm... well if you believe the narrative, a voice from heaven called Jesus his son so at least there's reason to understand why John the Baptist called him as such.

So are you saying, if we call Obama the messiah, he'll start doing miracles because you might get me to vote for him then...

Andy-- do you have any cites for the results of the Annenberg challenge? I've been trying, in a desultory way and without much success, to figure out what the controversial Ayers' views are on education. He's an education professor, but what does he believe? Maybe that could be a post for Joanne.

Those students may have been saying that they want to be architects and the like, but if they're being educated according to Obama's standards, they won't be. Why? Because they won't know any math or science.

Obama was on the board of the Annenberg education challenge. They had free rein to spend $150M and yet never bothered to fund any math or science education. They didn't improve education in other areas either.

They did, however, fund a lot of political organizations and organizers.

In 10-15 years, those kids may look back and ask why their dreams didn't come true. I doubt that any of them will realize that they were betrayed.

Does Obama answer prayers? I'm praying to him to downscale his enormous hubris if even just a tad, but he seems to be ignoring me.

Catch Thirty-Three,

Here's a link to a photo of the parthenon:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Parthenon-2008.jpg

Kind of reminds me of these buildings:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Lincoln_memorial_dc_20041011_095847_1.3008x2000.jpg --- Lincoln Memorial

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:WhiteHouseSouthFacade.JPG --- White House

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4b/Cc_aerial_w.jpg --- Capitol Hill

Doesn't surprise me that someone who wants to look presidential would want to surround himself with similar images.

Not sure about the significance of a sports stadium for an inauguration.

"I can barely go grocery shopping these days without seeing three or four images of Obama on mag covers, ALL portraying him as warmly and positively as possible."

Gone shopping lately? This week it seems to be back to the usual round of Angie, Jen and other the usual blond suspects, but the couple of weeks before that, I couldn't buy a gallon of milk without walking past Sarah Palin on three or four covers.

Palin's got charisma. Obama's got charisma. This is not sinister.
