   Ha! Our local children’s hostpital is the IWK, short for the Isaak Walton…wait for it…Killam Hospital.

   At least it’s named for a person rather than something that sounds more like an herbal tea or a day spa, which seem to be the more common school names these days. See http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html/cr_51.htm

   Good point Jay. Interesting history on the school website about Mrs. Kidd as well. One alternative (without saying it’s needed) might be “Pansy Ingle Kidd Middle School”.

   there was a “special needs” school in MA called the Dummer Academy. they couldn’t even get the name right;)
