Fun with school funding

It’s one of the least boring papers on school funding equity out there, claims Kevin Carey.

About Joanne

  1. Obviously, the fact that no one’s demonstrated any particularly worthwhile relationship between funding and educational outcomes bothers Mr. Carey not at all. He certainly isn’t deterred from conflating the two though:

“redistributionist school funding policies (that) poor students depend on to get a decent education”

I live within spitting distance of a large, municipal school district just chock full of poor students of which about 25% graduate and that’s with a funding level substantially in excess of the state average. Is that the “decent” education Mr. Carey refers too?
