On the road

I start my paperback book tour this week with a visit to Wisconsin.

Friday, March 23, I’ll be in Milwaukee to speak on “College Dreams” at a Soup and Substance lunch at noon at Marquette’s Alumni Memorial Union, room 163, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave. It’s open to anyone.

At 7 that evening, I’ll read from Our School: The Inspiring Story of Two Teachers, One Big Idea, and the Charter School That Beat the Odds at Schwartz Bookshop, 2262 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

By the way, thanks to Sean Hackbarth for mentioning the visit on The American Mind.

Saturday, March 24, please join me in downtown Madison at 11:45 am at Paisan’s, 131 W. Wilson. RSVP to Jim Zellmer (zellmer at mailbag dot com) of School Information System.

On Wednesday, March 28, I’m doing a “table talk” at 1 pm at the California Charter Schools Conference in San Diego, Town and Country Resort, 5000 Hotel Circle North.

Then it’s on to Seattle. On Wednesday, April 4, I’ll speak at a Policymakers Exchange lunch at 11:30 am in the Commons, third floor of Parrington Hall, University of Washington. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by March 30 to bardacke@u.washington.edu or Maggie Bardacke at 206-685-2214. I hope to see some Seattle bloggers there.

  1. Walter E. Wallis says:

On paperback tour you stay at Motel 6 and eat at McD’s?

  2. Could you pick up the disaggregated reading scores from the Madison Reading First schools while your in Madison? JK.

  3. Walter, I mooch off friends and relatives.

Rory, I’ll ask the Madison bloggers about those numbers.

  4. Jeeez, you do a lot of book touring and stuff.

Sounds like a lot of work.

Maybe I shouldn’t write a book after all.
