Joy on schooling

Ruth Joy is writing about citizenship education, democracy and Catholic schooling on Detocqueville’s Daughter. She takes on Teachers’ College’s “conceptual framework” for training new teachers.

Instead of teaching teachers how to teach, it has decided to turn them all into advocates and instructors in diversity, social change and liberal justice.

A former teacher and principal, Joy is now writing her dissertation on the philosophy of education.
