    With both teaching and nurses:
    –You want reasonably smart people
    –The starting salaries are low for smart people
    –There are complaints of shortages. What a surprise.

    Of course, every conservative knows the problem is all the unions’ fault. Society’s refusal to pay some professions what they’re worth has nothing to do with it.
