Today is my daughter’s 24th birthday. I don’t know how she got to be so old. Happy birthday, Allison.

The EPA estimates that one-third of U.S. schools have buildings in need of extensive repair or replacement. If your child's school was built before the 1980s it might contain asbestos in fireproofing, insulation, adhesives, cement or asbestos tile. Teachers and students should take care not to disturb any asbestos; exposure to asbestos fibers can result in mesothelioma, asbestosis and other lung diseases.

O.K. Airplane Engine – the Palo Alto Daily is looking for reporters. Get a job so your Mom can go into genteel retirement.
Oh, and happy birthday.
Hey Allison, happy b-day. You have the perfect age. Actually, you have about 20 years to be young, and then another 20 to be not-quite-so-young-but-smarter-and-beautiful. Enjoy them all.
Tell your mom she’s a peach, smart as all get out, and important to the work I do here as agrad student. Without her, I’m adrift alone in a sea of academics–a scary situation and possibly dangerous to my thinking.
Oh, happy day, and best wishes to both you and Allison (the other Allison) –
I had forgetten that David L. and Allison shared a birthday — he’s 27 this year. This year he is half as old as I am.
