Eighty percent of K-12 students displaced by the closing of the 60-campus California Charter Academy have enrolled in other charter schools. “California Charter Academy shut down 60 campuses under pressure from new state laws and a California Department of Education investigation into its academic and financial practices,” reports the LA Times. Of 3,300 students who had to find new elementary, middle and high schools, 2,600 chose another charter school.
