Transcendental murder

I am a bad person for laughing at this story.

Baaaad karma! Bad, bad karma. Sit! Stay!

  2. J. W. Patterson says:

What happened to the theory that education should be centered around facts and the scientific method?

Why is it that people consider building “self-esteem” to be the primary goal of institutes of education? (As opposed to showing every conceivable mix of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and culture examples of role models. (“We need to include more Left-handed, Non-Christian, Alternatively-Sexed, Little People of Color in our history (Her-story) texts!”))

Self-esteem be damned. If my kids do well in getting a basic education, I will make sure that they have all the “self-esteem” they need.

If they do not apply themselves to getting a basic education, then I will personally tutor them in same.

I trust our public education system about as far as a midget can throw a piano.

Pardon me, that should be “I trust our public education system about as far as a ‘person of vertically challenged stature’ can ‘vertically propel’ a ‘keyboard interfaced string intsrument'”.

When are parents going to take responsiblity for their children’s education?

  3. John from OK says:

“Sexie Sadie, what have you done? You made a fool of everyone.”

    (Beatles nerds understand this.)

  4. D Anghelone says:

…Sem, said to be extremely calm…

    Meditation works.

  5. Joanne, you are going straight to…well, jeeze, I don’t believe in hell, heck? no, the bad place, no, darn,

you can’t make up stories funnier than the news.

(And what is up with J. W. Patterson?)

  6. US foreign policy is at fault? Bush is really the most powerful man in the universe.

  7. LOL!! Quoting a Metallica song (I forgot who originally did it), “Am I evil? Yes I am!”

This wouldn’t have happened if Gore were in office. 🙂

I’m surprised the article was so soft on TM. Here’s a harder take:

If anyone needs a mantra, just ask. I can tell you the Sanskrit word for “sneeze” and you’ll think it’s the key to the cosmos.

  8. “What happened to the theory that education should be centered around facts and the scientific method?”

JW, “facts” don’t exist in the age of Prepostmodern Redeconstructionism. You just think facts exist. But it’s all in your mind. Existence itself is only in your mind which, er, exists? Oops, pretend I didn’t say that.

As for the scientific method, it loses all validity once you leave the borders of Europe and Turtle Island (“North America”? Puh-leeze.) Elsewhere, the laws of magic apply. But blind white men refuse to recognize this. They will pay for their ethnocentric blindness.

“We need to include more Left-handed, Non-Christian, Alternatively-Sexed, Little People of Color in our history (Her-story) texts!”

As an ambidextrous three-meter-tall alien from the planet Qwertyuiop, I am appalled at your humanocentrism. Until your texts include the achievements of MY people – like the abductions reported in the Weekly World News – there will never be any justice. And when we Qwertyuiops protest, we do it galactic style. I’m talkin’ space fleets like you wouldn’t believe, man.

  9. DanMax says:

As punishment for this horrible crime, the murderer should never be allowed to eat meat again, be forced to wear goofy looking saffron robes, be required to waste hour after hour chanting in the company of space cases, and…

    Oh. Never mind.

  10. Bill Leonard says:

Ah, but this happened during a vegetarian meal. Perhaps the answer is more red meat. Or perhaps the answer is to shut down this outfit.

From what I recall of the Beatles, didn’t they journey to India or somewhere to study at the knee of this swami who, it turned out, mostly wanted to fondle and otherwise get next to the groupies who traipsed after the Beatles?

Ah, well. Think good thoughts, and all will be rectified. Especially after Sem is sentenced to another kind of institution of learning as a guest of the Iowa taxpayers.

  11. At least as long as these nut cases are off contemplating their own navels and keep to themselves, they’re no danger to the rest of us. And it keeps them off the streets and out of the homeless shelters, which is probably where most of them would end up otherwise.
