Edison rethinks its plan
Edison Schools Inc. is restructuring and cutting overhead to stay in business, this New York Times story explains. The for-profit may yet make a profit from software and summer schools. While Edison’s Philadelphia experiment hasn’t been a disaster, the company won’t go into a very hostile city to run non-charter schools in the future. It sounds like a better business plan, but investors still aren’t convinced, and Edison may go private.
